2003 ATLANTIC PROVINCES / MARITIME CANADA

In the First Leg of our three year coast-to-coast journey, our 2003 Expedition Education adventure took us by motorhome to the beautiful Atlantic provinces.

In Nova Scotia, we toured historic Halifax and the scenic South Shore communities of Peggy’s Cove and Lunenburg, home of Canada’s famous schooner Bluenose.

By motorhome, we toured Cape Breton’s magnificent Cabot Trail, visited the spectacular French Fortress of Louisburg and enjoyed the fascinating Alexander Graham Bell Museum and estate in Baddeck. We also traveled to Prince Edward Island, home of Anne of Green Gables author Lucy Maud Montgomery, and some of Canada’s most scenic farmland.

While in Charlottetown (birthplace of Confederation and site of the famous 1864 Charlottetown Conference), we walked in the very footsteps of Canada’s Fathers of Confederation. Touring New Brunswick’s Acadian Shore and the beautiful Bay of Fundy region, we enjoyed a trip aboard a lobster boat and the chance to walk along the sea floor at low tide.

IN THE HEART OF OAKVILLE

HISTORY

West Wind originated as the senior campus of Dearcroft Montessori School (est. 1968), and acted as an independent preparatory day school program offering Senior Elementary (grades 4 – 6) and Junior High (grades 7/8).  In 2008, to coincide with the 40th anniversary of Dearcroft Montessori, we combined as a single campus.  Our program is now fully operated from the Dearcroft campus at 1167 Lakeshore Road East, Oakville.
