Expanded Campus

Expanded campus and award-winning programs beginning 2014 - 2015. Enhanced arts, science and French program in Oakville's most inspired natural learning environment. Continued and improved access to Oakville's most beautiful and stimulating municipal spaces, including Gairloch Gardens, Oakville Harbour district, and Lawson Park. Curriculum extensions offering travel and global learning opportunities.

Aboriginal Studies Curriculum

To kick off our new Aboriginal Studies curriculum, Junior High students will begin the school year with an interdisciplinary session focused on developing a deep understanding of the experience of First Nations in Canada. As part of this work our Annual Fall Bonding trip will take us to the Georgian Bay area. Students will explore the Huronia region focusing on the compelling history of first contact between Aboriginals and Europeans, as well as the key role the French River played in Canadian history. Highlights will include programming at the world class historical site, Ste. Marie among the Hurons, a visit to Beausoleil First Nation on Christian Island, exploration of one of Canada's Heritage Rivers, the French River, and a chance to interact with students from the Shawanaga First Nation on the Shores of Georgian Bay.

West Wind originated as the senior campus of Dearcroft Montessori School (est. 1968), and acted as an independent preparatory day school program offering Senior Elementary (grades 4 – 6) and Junior High (grades 7/8).  In 2008, to coincide with the 40th anniversary of Dearcroft Montessori, we combined as a single campus.  Our program is now fully operated from the Dearcroft campus at 1167 Lakeshore Road East, Oakville.
